With pod_options.subagent_token, the provider adds a projected, 600-second ServiceAccount token (plus cluster CA and namespace) at /var/run/secrets/buzz-subagents, so an orchestrating agent can claim short-lived worker Sandboxes. The ambient ServiceAccount token stays off, the option is off by default, and enabling it changes the launch intent. The deployment scopes the token to SandboxClaims in the developer namespace. Do not describe claim-count quota as a total worker limit.
If an agent deletes a claim or waits for it to expire, it can create another claim while its rotating token remains available. A count quota limits existing claims, not the total number of workers started over time. State the concurrent limit accurately. If the deployment needs a cumulative cost or creation limit, require a separate budget or rate control. (kubernetes.io)

The claim-count quota does not ensure cleanup when worker claims use the default shutdownPolicy: Retain. Require worker claims or the admission policy to set shutdownPolicy: Delete. If cleanup depends on worker exit, also set restartPolicy: Never.

An orchestrating agent session cannot start worker Sandboxes, because its Pod has no Kubernetes API credentials. This PR adds two optional

The token is not at the default ServiceAccount path, so tools do not pick it up implicitly. The kubelet rotates it before expiry.docs/remote-agents.mdgets a new §Sub-agents section. It states what the deployment must scope: RBAC, admission of worker-template claims only, bounded lifetimes, and a claim quota.app.kubernetes.io/managed-byand binding-version labels.Delivery scope
This is an optional remote orchestration extension. The remote-session launch, stop, checkpoint, and recovery path through #6 does not depend on this PR. Keep it separate from core remote-agent acceptance; worker execution still needs the deployment and signing prerequisites listed below.
enable_subagentsis a public boolean option. The desktop accepts it while continuing to reject secret-bearingtokenkeys. The prior unreleasedsubagent_tokenspelling is replaced.Stack
Position 23 of 23. Base: #6. This is the top of the stack. Each PR contains one signed commit. #27 fixes the existing message-edit CI failure, and #29 fixes transient provider launch conflicts. #24 and #25 repair fork CI and security prerequisites; the feature layers remain scoped to remote agents.
Validation
mesh-llm. The integrated desktop native suite passed 3,445 tests, and 30 parallel provider-test repetitions passed. The final frontend and static checks passed on the published revision. Full localjust cihas not passed as one run: two unchanged mobile tests timed out in the full suite and passed in isolation; all 27 terminal unit tests passed in an isolated Linux container that supplies the standard tools missing from the Nix host. Updated GitHub checks are pending.Limits
This optional layer does not create SandboxClaims or run workers. Worker RBAC, admission, quota, and an approved remote signing transport remain deployment prerequisites.
At the author’s direction, a clean CodeRabbit review gates readiness for human review. Human runtime acceptance is still pending; it is not a prerequisite for leaving draft.
