- Line 1: Enable all features for the desktop cargo-deny graph by adding
graph-wide all-features configuration in deny-desktop.toml, and update the
dependency-exception guard’s cargo metadata invocation to pass --all-features.
Do not add a ZIP advisory ignore.

Keep Mesh-LLM ZIP advisory exceptions in its smoke-only policy. Check runtime and desktop dependency graphs separately and include desktop Rust changes in the security gate. Upgrade desktop ZIP and pin the upstream updater ZIP fix. Verify that the desktop ringbuf exception remains an unused dependency of pinned NetEQ. Preserve the upstream dependency repairs and explicit bans on vulnerable trust roots. Signed-off-by: Tee8z <tee8z@protonmail.com>

CI note: this stack still hits flaky tests in code it does not change. When one of these fails here, the failure is unrelated to this PR, and a re-run usually passes.
Summary jobs from cancelled runs also stay red until the replacement run finishes. A failure in this PR's own code gets a fix in this PR. @thebrandonlucas it's fine to approve without CI fully passing. |
The shared dependency policy allowed Mesh-LLM ZIP exceptions to hide vulnerable desktop archives. Split the runtime, smoke-harness, and desktop checks so those exceptions apply only to the smoke harness. Run security checks for desktop-only Rust changes too.
Upgrade desktop ZIP to 9.0.5, reject filename-decoding errors in the managed Node archive path, and pin the updater to upstream's ZIP 9 fix (
ba98bfadc4c868c9a7e1a226c83af528e1f11b89) until it ships in a release. Preserve the earlier dependency repairs and the bans that reject vulnerable trust-root versions. The desktop policy checks every feature, including the optional
mesh-llmgraph that release builds enable. That graph still carries ZIP 8.6.0 throughmesh-llmv0.76.2; nomesh-llmrelease uses ZIP 9 yet. The desktop policy therefore excuses RUSTSEC-2026-0367, -0368, and -0369 for that path only. The CI guard fails when the default desktop graph contains ZIP below 9, when a crate other thanmesh-llmconsumes it, or whenmesh-llmcalls the affected extract APIs; its readers copy entries throughenclosed_name().The desktop policy documents three transitive maintenance notices. Its ringbuf exception is limited by a CI guard: NetEQ 0.8.3 must remain the only consumer, must not alias or reference ringbuf, and must have no build script. The published NetEQ source uses VecDeque and declares ringbuf without using it. A new version, consumer, or Rust reference fails the guard.
Validation:
cargo-denychecks passed.cargo-denycheck and the ZIP guard passed; the guard rejected a ZIP 8 package in the default graph and a non-mesh-llmconsumer.Stack: layer 3 of 24. Base: #24. Next: #31. One signed commit per layer. No human runtime acceptance is claimed.
