The Voltage fork tried to publish images and caches under the upstream registry owner, and its chart artifacts still referenced upstream images. Derive registry paths from the running repository and package both Helm charts with the matching fork image. Preserve upstream chart defaults and configured image repository overrides.

Package a temporary chart copy so release-specific defaults do not alter the source chart. Fork relay charts select the main image tag published by the fork Docker workflow.

The desktop smoke suite also had setup races: live or background delivery could hide a thread-query error, and timeline reordering could point audio assertions at the wrong player. Persist thread fixtures without live delivery, introduce the retry reply after the error, and track audio players by message ID. Loop the short audio fixture so natural completion cannot satisfy the pause assertion.

Validation: both repaired browser cases passed 10 repetitions each with no retries. A negative control that disables audio handoff fails at the intended pause assertion. Desktop lint and TypeScript checks passed. Both charts passed artifact tests for upstream, fork, and custom image settings. Tests inspect the actual Helm packages and verify the source values stay unchanged. Relay Helm lint, gateway rendering, and the gateway release contract passed.

Stack: layer 2 of 24. Base: #29. Next: #25. One signed commit per layer. Fresh GitHub CI will validate the full revision. No human runtime acceptance is claimed.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Chores

    • Container images and Helm charts now use the current repository’s package namespace by default.
    • Forks and other repository copies can publish independently without fixed package paths.
    • Image and chart destinations remain configurable through workflow settings.
    • Publishing and verification use normalized package names and repository-specific locations.
    • Chart packaging now supports configurable image repositories and tags while preserving source chart files.
  • Tests

    • Added validation for chart packaging across upstream, fork, and override scenarios.

📝 Walkthrough

The publishing workflows now derive image and chart destinations from the current repository or configured overrides. New scripts package and validate Helm charts. E2E mocks support persisted messages without live delivery, and voice-note tests use stable message IDs.

Changes: Repository-based package publishing

Layer / File(s) Summary
Configure and publish Docker images
.github/workflows/docker.yml, .github/workflows/sprig-image.yml
The workflows add repository-based image defaults, preserve overrides, lowercase image names, and update publication metadata and verification references.
Package and publish Helm charts
.github/workflows/helm-chart.yml, .github/workflows/push-gateway-helm-chart.yml, scripts/package-chart.sh, scripts/test-chart-packaging.sh
The workflows derive chart and image destinations, validate packaged defaults, normalize chart repositories, and use the packaging script for publication. The scripts update copied chart values and verify tags, lowercase repositories, and source preservation.

E2E message validation

Layer / File(s) Summary
Control mock message delivery
desktop/src/testing/e2eBridge.ts
The mock-message seam accepts emitLive, persists messages when disabled, and suppresses related live events.
Control conversation failure setup
desktop/tests/e2e/project-conversation-load-failure.spec.ts
The test waits for channel readiness, seeds persisted messages without live delivery, injects failure before navigation, and seeds the reply after the terminal error.
Use stable voice-note targets
desktop/tests/e2e/voice-note.spec.ts
The test captures message IDs, targets audio cards by ID, enables looping, and verifies player exclusivity in both directions.

@thebrandonlucas please review this PR, layer 2 of 23 in the remote-agent stack. Assigned to @tee8z.

CodeRabbit's review has no outstanding actionable findings at 987eb1078ed9fb756617b757565a4d419d215643. CI and runtime acceptance remain separate checks.

Publish images, caches, and packaged Helm charts under the owning
repository, preserving explicit image overrides and upstream defaults.

Persist thread fixtures without live delivery and arrange failed queries
before project navigation. Add the reply after the cold-query failure so
background history cannot mask the error and Retry must fetch it.

Bind duplicate audio-player assertions to message IDs across timeline
reordering. Loop the short fixture so only explicit playback handoff can
satisfy the pause assertion, and exercise handoff in both directions.

Backport the smoke-spec fixes from upstream block#8343 (7b11c61).
The huddle voice-menu test waits for the composer's delayed autofocus
before it opens the popover. The empty-edit test edits a per-test message
with a real event id instead of the seeded non-hex welcome message. The
workflow test fills the step inspector only after it shows the new step.

CI note: this stack still hits flaky tests in code it does not change. When one of these fails here, the failure is unrelated to this PR, and a re-run usually passes.

Summary jobs from cancelled runs also stay red until the replacement run finishes. A failure in this PR's own code gets a fix in this PR.

@thebrandonlucas it's fine to approve without CI fully passing.
